Washtenaw County, Michigan
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating several Craigslist robberies. The victims in these robberies were either selling or buying items through Craigslist ads. Many people post ads on Craigslist and other social media websites but this practice has proven, in some circumstances, not the safest way to do business. It is difficult to track or know who you will be meeting face to face.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office will be closing at 12 noon on Friday, April 3rd, 2015 in observance of Good Friday. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, April 6th, 2015.
New requirements are in place for parents and guardians who opt not to fully vaccinate their children before the children enter school or childcare.

The Sheriff’s Office recently identified two (2) new police service dog (PSD) handlers who have been spending time building strong bonds and a solid training foundation with their new canine partners. The bond between the Police Service Dog Units (PSDU) and handlers from surrounding agencies is also very strong. This was made clear when our PSDU was contacted by Tracy Spader, Founder and President of the “K9 Defender Fund, Inc” www.k9defenderfund.org. Ms. Spader was made aware of our two (2) new handlers and canine recruits by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit.
