The 2015 Health Improvement Plan (HIP) survey has started. More than 2,500 residents across Washtenaw County will be invited to participate in confidential phone interviews. Local HIP partners urge residents to “answer the call.”
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has relocated its Ypsilanti Township community police operation to the new Ypsilanti Township Law Enforcement Center (LEC) located at 1501 S. Huron St. The LEC is just over a mile away from the original Township community station formerly housed at the Township Civic Center and District Court campus on S. Huron River Drive.
Over the last several months, the Sheriff’s Office has identified two (2) new police service dog handlers and engaged in the search for police service dog candidates to serve with them; dogs that match the competencies required of a multi-purpose (patrol, tracking & detection) police service dog. On Thursday, January 10th, 2015, Sheriff’s Office Police Service Dog (PSD) trainer John Bochenek delivered our two (2) new police service dog recruits to their respective new partners and homes.
