The Michigan Department of Transportation has provided courtesy patrols for some time now across much of the Metropolitan Detroit region. These patrols, created to provide both citizens and visitors with courteous and effective assistance to motorists on our freeways, will begin service in Washtenaw County on Friday, February 1, 2013.
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office staff to serve as panelists at symposium about mental illness in the criminal system.
Dr. Christine Negendank, the forensic psychiatrist at the Sheriff’s Office, and Chief Deputy Rick Kaledas of the Sheriff’s Office will serve as panelists at a one-day conference, “The Criminalization of Mental Illness: Turning Patients into Inmates ~ February 8, 2013 ~ Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.
Early this morning WCSO Detectives located 3 month old Solomon Brandon who had been taken by his biological parents. Solomon was found safe and unharmed. His parents, Rachael McPherson and Darris Brandon are currently in custody. More details will be released as the investigation continues.
Luke Wolf, who is an honorary WCSO deputy, came to visit the WCSO on Friday, January 4, 2013 and was able to take a tour of the facility, meeting members of administration, the Detective Bureau, and Court Security. Luke has multiple long term health issues and must use a wheel chair much of the time.
Local Auto Dealership Wishes to Thank the WCSO for Great Service, Presents Check for $2,000 to the WISD Education Project, Charity Chosen by Sheriff Jerry L. Clayton
Mike Mosser, General Manager of Suburban Chevrolet, Cadillac, Saab, presented a check for $2,000 on behalf of the dealership to Jennifer Martin, representing the Education Project for Homeless Youth, this morning on the Lucy Ann Lance show. The generous donation was designed to “show appreciation for the great work of the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office” by benefitting a worthy cause, chosen by Sheriff Jerry L. Clayton.
