On April 27th, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its sixth opportunity in three years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your medications (no liquids please) for disposal to the Sheriff’s Office at 2201 Hogback Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48105. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
The Sheriff’s Office represented Washtenaw County Law Enforcement Tuesday, March 26th in a Battle of the Badges Tug of War contest at the Detroit Pistons game. They faced off against Macomb County Sheriff winning 2 out of the 3 “wars” and being named the 2012 Battle of Badges Tug of War Champions. Participating in the event were Director Derrick Jackson, Deputy Thomas Guynes, Deputy Joe Montgomery, Sergeant Fred Garcia and Sergeant Beth Gieske.

One 4/1/12 the WCSO Detective Bureau was notified that a three (3) year old male had been brought into the University Of Michigan Hospital by his mother regarding severe burns and bruising. After examination it was also determined that the child had blood in his urine, fluid in his abdomen, bite marks and the burns were covering 18% of his body.
