Washtenaw County, Michigan
The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners hereby declares the week of April 14, 2013 through April 20, 2013, as National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week in Washtenaw County.
WCSO Emergency Services conducts Skywarn Spotter training programs throughout the community at the beginning of every severe weather season. The National Weather Service Forecast Office in White Lake assigns an experienced meteorologist to conduct the training, which is free of charge and open to anyone at least 18 years of age. The course is about two hours long, and Skywarn Spotter identification codes are issued to all who complete the training.
On April 27th, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its sixth opportunity in three years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your medications (no liquids please) for disposal to the Sheriff’s Office at 2201 Hogback Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48105. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
