Starting today, law enforcement agencies across the state are stepping up seat belt enforcement for the annual Click It or Ticket campaign that seeks to reduce traffic deaths and injuries by increasing belt use.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. As has become a tradition in Washtenaw County, a ceremony marking Peace Officer’s Memorial Day will be held at the Washtenaw 100 Club Memorial Park this year on Thursday, May 15th, 2014 at 10:00AM. The park is located on Michigan Avenue at Ballard Street in Ypsilanti.
