Then, share your knowledge. Become your neighborhood's expert on rain gardens! Last year, 66 people built their own rain gardens in Washtenaw County. Join them by creating a beautiful one of your own!

A2 STEAM at Northside builds a Rain Garden

A2 STEAM at Northside builds a Rain Garden

The 6th graders at A2 STEAM at Northside have dug, composted, mulched and planted two rain gardens at their school. Placed on either side of the path, these rain gardens will capture, store and clean stormwater. They are also full of native plants that will be good habitat for birds and bees. WCSO Participated in an Active Shooter Exercise

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) participated in a full-scale county-wide active shooter exercise on June 7, 2017. Other participating agencies included Pittsfield Department of Public Safety, Ann Arbor Police Department, Eastern Michigan University Police Department, several area Fire Departments, Huron Valley Ambulance, Washtenaw County Emergency Management, and St. Joseph Mercy Health Systems.

Washtenaw County Law Enforcement Agencies Collaborate to Hold Gun Safety Week 2017

All the law enforcement agencies in Washtenaw County have joined together again this year to help make our County and our residents safer by holding a Gun Safety Week June 18th through June 24th, 2017 in order to educate and raise aware-ness and encourage responsible gun ownership. The Board of Commissioners passed a resolution on June 7th declaring June 18th through June 24th as Gun Safety Week in Washtenaw County.
