Information for Poll Workers

Interested in Serving As A Poll Worker?

Jurisdictions in Washtenaw County are recruiting registered voters and youth age 16 to 18 to serve their community as poll workers during the upcoming November 8 General Election..  Poll workers are vital to the voting process and ensure the right to vote. They make voting possible!

Poll workers are people who are paid to assist voters at the polls on Election Day. Registered voters interested in serving as poll workers must submit an application to a city or township Clerk.

A poll worker must be a registered voter of the State. They cannot be a challenger, candidate, member of a candidate's immediate family, or a member of the local Board of Canvassers. Anyone convicted of a felony or an election crime may not serve. Submit the Poll Worker Application to the city or township clerk of your choice.  You can find your local clerk via the Michigan Voter Information Center. The city or township clerk will be able to answer any questions you have regarding becoming and/or being a poll worker.
