What is RSS?

RSS - You might have heard of it, or seen the icon on some of your favorite web pages, but not known what it meant.  RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.  It is a technology that allows web publishers to establish a "feed" of content, pushing out information to subscribers.

For you as a subscriber, it means not having to go to all of your favorite websites to see if there is any new information, but rather having any new information from all of the sites delivered to you in one place.

How to Subscribe:
Interested in subscribing? You will first need to obtain a "feed reader" - a program or service that will collect the content and display it in an easy-to-read format. There are many free versions available online. Simply use your favorite search engine to look for "free feed readers" and download one that best meets your needs.

Then go to your favorite RSS-capable pages and click on the RSS icon at the bottom of the page. This will take you to a page of XML code, the language that makes RSS possible. Don't worry if it looks complicated, all you need to do is copy the URL for the page into your feed reader and you're ready to go!
