Local Opportunities Exist to Help Puerto Rico

expired

Two recent hurricanes have left Puerto Rico devastated. There are several opportunities to provide resources locally that will get to those in need.

The Ann Arbor branch of Puerto Rico Rises is working hard to get relief supplies to Puerto Rico as quickly as possible. Recognizing the urgency of such relief, we will hold our donation drive in advance of other Puerto Rico Rises branches.

Our two-week collection drive will take place from September 28th to October 12th. Drop-off sites are being coordinated with various community partners in Michigan. (See poster below for details)

As part of our efforts we are collaborating with the Puerto Rican Family Institute (501(c)(3) non-profit org). This non-profit, health and human services agency, based in New York, is our strategic partner in the transportation of all collected supplies. The PRFI is one of the many organizations working in concert with the New York state government in its Empire State Relief and Recovery Effort for Puerto Rico. Once received, they will guarantee the distribution of relief in Puerto Rico.
