Cyber Security Breakfast is a hit!
In recognition of Cyber Security Awareness Month the Washtenaw County Cyber Citizenship Coalition (WC4) hosted a Kick-Off Breakfast earlier this month.
Over 180 individuals from local, state and federal agencies involved in keeping residents and businesses safe online attended the breakfast. The intent of the event was to raise awareness on the ways in which citizens and local businesses can better safeguard themselves in cyberspace. The main presentation and video clip are available online.
Local efforts are led by Commissioner Kristin Judge and Sheriff Jerry Clayton in cooperation with Washtenaw Intermediate School District, A2Y Chamber and Pittsfield Township Public Safety. The coalition works in conjunction with the National Initiative for Cyber Education (NICE). More information about the national campaign is available online.
During the event, Commissioner Judge revealed the coalition’s new website. The site was created to help residents easily sift through all the information, educational material and events related to Internet Safety. WC4 is NOT producing any new materials; rather they are following the lead of the National Initiative for Cyber Education (NICE) and "sharing the wheel" instead of recreating it.
