The Washtenaw County Treasurer, Catherine McClary, announced today that the county will hold its online auction for tax-foreclosed properties through Bid4Assets.  Auction properties and terms and conditions of sale are available for preview on

Minimum bid prices begin as low as $2,166 for the 48 auction items. In a tax-foreclosure auction, the minimum bid is the amount of back taxes plus interest, fees, and expenses owed to the county on the property.  Anyone can register to bid online, and the highest bidder wins the auction.  This year’s auction includes single-family homes, condominiums, unimproved land, and a few commercial properties.

McClary said, “One benefit of the auction process is that tax-foreclosed properties get put back on the tax rolls and generate revenue for the county.”  She added that “another positive aspect is that winning bidders have the opportunity to purchase property at favorable prices.”     Interested parties should visit the website or contact the Treasurer’s Office at 734-222-6600 or at for more information.
