The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a Federal program created in 1981 to help supplement the diets of low-income people in need, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost. 

Washtenaw County Employee Training and Community Services (ETCS), in partnership with Food Gathers, distribute these surplus foods to those in our community who are income eligble - assisting with over 2,000 households quarterly.
