A summary of the discussion and actions taken by the Washtenaw
County Board of Commissioners at the January 21st Ways & Means and Board
meetings, and the January 22nd Working Session.
JANUARY 21ST WAYS AND MEANS MEETING
The Board
accepted the Ecology of Place Artwork presented by Shary Brown, Executive
Director of the Ann Arbor Street Art
Fair at the January 21st Ways and Means meeting.
Leslie Sobel created and coordinated the collaborative collage on maps
contributed by Washtenaw County. The panels, which use visual and word
images to celebrate our varied ecosystems, will be displayed at the
Washtenaw County Learning Resource Center in the upcoming weeks.
The Board also discussed and approved several grant agreements from Emergency Management, theTrial Court and the Office of the Sheriff. To see the cover memos and resolutions associated with these agreements check out the January 21st Ways & Means Agenda and the Ways & Means webcast.
JANUARY 21ST BOARD MEETING
Board Chair Commissioner Rolland Sizemore appointed Commissioners to a number of Boards, Committees, and Commissions at the January 21st Board meeting.
David Behen, Deputy Administrator presented a report to the Board on Shared Services initiatives. The County is collaborating with local units of government in an effort to reduce the cost of doing business to help sustain and enhance services for the citizens of Washtenaw County. The report described the County’s progress on shared service partnerships with the City of Ann Arbor, Pittsfield Township, City of Chelsea, City of Ypsilanti and the Washtenaw County Road Commission. JANUARY 22ND BOARD WORKING SESSION
The January 22nd Board Working Session featured updates on the Women, Infants, and Children/Maternal & Infant Health Program (WIC/MHIP) Program Integration from Public Health Director, Ellen Clement and the recently reorganized Department of Veteran Services by the Director, Mark Lindke.
