To: Bob Guenzel Attached is an article in the latest People magazine about the Homeless Soccer World Cup that was held in Australia. Sara Silvennoinen, a PORT case manager, was a coach of the USA team and is pictured on page 53 of the magazine running into the ocean with the team. World Wide Soccer in Ann Arbor and the Detroit Ignition Professional Soccer team has been sponsoring the PORT soccer team’s practices, uniforms and supplies. Thanks to all of you for your support! The individuals who practice and play with the PORT soccer team have had great success getting housing, employment and connecting back to the community. Soccer has given them a sense of belonging and hope for the future. How cool is that! Great Job Coach Sara, Linda Bacigalupi, and Jim Bastian! Deb Pippins, MA, LMSW, LPC |
