The project is expected
to take approximately two years, finishing in the latter half of 2010, and
will require some rerouting for agency personnel and the public who use the
Service Center.
- On Monday, November 3, 2008, the west side of the parking lot at
the Service Center (the area closest to the Hogback Road entrance) will be
closed and will remain closed until the end of the construction project in
2010.
- The Washtenaw Avenue entrance, through St. Luke’s Church
parking lot, will be the main entrance to the Service Center throughout
the construction project.
- The Hogback Road entrance to the Service Center will be closed to all
traffic except for the Sheriff’'s Department and other police
agencies only.
- Parking will still be available at the east end of the lot, closer to
the County’s Learning Resource Center, with overflow spaces available in
the St. Luke's Church parking lot.
This long awaited large and complex project will encompass two years of
construction and involve many contractors accessing the site daily.
The County wants to minimize any impact to services at the site and there
will be abundant signage to help both vehicle and pedestrian traffic
throughout this process.
