Take A Tour Through History! Washtenaw County’s Heritage Tourism Map Project

There's history, rich history waiting in the ancestral architecture you see all over Washtenaw County. Now, with help from the County’s Heritage Tourism Map Project, you can learn all about that history as you follow four distinct themed driving or riding routes throughout Washtenaw County’s cities, townships and villages.

Scio Township Strieter House and FarmTourists – County residents as well as County visitors – now have detailed brochures and mapping for a German Heritage Tour, the Greek Revival Tour, the Historic Barns, and the Esek Pray Trail.  The old structures are beautiful, and the stories behind them are fascinating.

Download and print out all or any of these four Washtenaw County Heritage Tours brochures through Washtenaw County Historic Preservation webpage.

The Washtenaw County Heritage Tours Project is funded in part by a Certified Local Government grant from the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office and supported by several local partners, including the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Ypsilanti Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Saline Chamber of Commerce, Saline Area Historical Society, Washtenaw County Historical Consortium, and the Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County.
