4-H Youth Show - Always the Best

Happy youngster with his goatsIt’s one of the most important community events of the year – the Washtenaw County 4-H Youth Show!  From Sunday July 22nd through Friday, July 27th you’re able to visit the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds to witness the dawning of leadership.

This comprehensive public view of great youth programs is available free, with plenty of parking, the entire week. Just a quick look at the schedule of events – hour by hour – gives an indication of the breadth of interests and talent of young people in Washtenaw County. This wonderful week is made possible through Michigan State University Extension of Washtenaw County (MSU Extension).

The Youth Show provides recognition of achievement and is sure to inspire anyone - from the very young to the not-so-young. Aside from the many judging and showmanship events – including, cows, pigs, chickens, cats, dogs, horses, llamas and more – there are plenty of fun events that get the audience involved – like the “Make & Take” Seed Planting or Lanyard Making or a Story Hour with the Llamas in the Llama Tent. A Llama Close-Up!

(When was the last time you watched a llama listen? And oh those eyelashes!)

Make a plan to be there, and for more details on the week, the entire program for the event (PDF – 74 pages) can be printed out from the MSU Extension web site.

So plan to attend – and bring the family to this super family event!
