Property owners with delinquent property taxes can receive special help to prevent home or business property tax foreclosure by contacting the Treasurer's Office directly by email or phone at 734-222-6600. Our office may be able to assist you in:

  • Loan and grant advocacy for payment of delinquent property taxes.
  • Budgeting help.
  • Automatic or partial payment arrangements.
  • Options to defer payments, extend payment time periods, or reduce taxes in hardship situations.

Payment Options

Collect and Distribute Current Property Tax Revenue

The County Treasurer receipts and records payments from the local governmental unit's collection of the current year's property taxes. Our office then distributes the funds collected to the appropriate agencies such as the State of Michigan, Huron Clinton Metropolitan Authority, Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission, Washtenaw Intermediate School District, Washtenaw Community College among others.
