Free tax preparation services are aviable throughout the County to qualified taxpayers. Assistance is available at a variety of locations, and at a variety of dates and times. Please view the flyer below for additional details on the available services.

Free Counseling for Persons/Families in Housing and Financial Crisis

Financial stresses and strains take a psychological toll on the individuals and families. There are many thoughts and feelings that people experience as they face the prospect of foreclosure. Most common among them are embarrassment, isolation, loss of control, stress, feelings of failure, anger and frustration, depression and anxiety, and in extreme cases, thoughts of suicide.

The COE Counseling Clinic is offering free counseling to help those who are struggling with financial problems. We can also provide you with referrals that will help you work through the foreclosure process and begin rebuilding credit.

All counseling sessions are held in room 135 or the Porter Building on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.

Basic Money Management Course: Dollar Works 2

This free workshop will teach the basics of money management. This course is offered every Thursday morning, and select Monday and Wednesday evenings in February and March. Pre registration is required. To register for any of these events, or for more information, please call 734-222-3943.
