Police Service Dogs Engage in Waterborne Activity Training

Police Service Dogs can be single purpose, dual purpose or multi-purpose dogs. Sheriff's Office Dogs are multi-purpose, meaning they are tracking dogs, have a detection specialty and are also certified as patrol dogs meaning that they are capable of searching for articles or people and engaging in criminal apprehension and the protection of their handler or others. In addition to being environmentally stable, multi-purpose dogs must be capable of absorbing extensive training.

On Sunday August 2nd, 2015 the Manchester Young Guns hosted their annual awards banquet. As part of the event they invited the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office to field a team of trap shooters. The Sheriff’s Office utilized personnel that work or live in the Manchester area to build their team.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office requests your assistance in locating two runaways listed above. The sisters, ages fifteen and nine, and are believed to be together. They are likely in the Metro Detroit area. They were last seen at their Scio Township residence on August 2nd.
