WCSO to Provide Active Shooter Training for Faith Community

This Saturday, February 25, 2017 the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting our Active Shooter and Active Assailant Training for our local faith community.

Since 2013 the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has provided active shooter A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) training to thousands of residents within our schools, court houses, government buildings, and other organizations. Our goal is to help prepare people to respond if an intruder/shooter enters a building. The decision to provide such trainings was precipitated by the dramatic increase in active shooter incidences within schools, the work place, and public buildings throughout the nation. The WCSO would like to offer its Active Shooter training to our local Faith Community.

The WCSO invites all of our congregations in Washtenaw County who would like to learn more about how to better prepare and respond if an active shooter or active assailant situation were to occur in your house of worship, to send representatives to this training. Leadership or members of your safety committees that can take information back to the larger group should attend.

If you would like to attend please contact Kathy Wyatt at wyattk@ewashtenaw.org or 734-973-4613.
