Sheriff Jerry L. Clayton announces promotions within Police Services Division

On behalf of the Sheriff, it is our pleasure to announce the following promotions:

Krings Rush PromotionsNicholas Krings – Police Services Sergeant

Nick began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2008.  During his time with the Sheriff’s Office he has served as a Police Training Officer (PTO), Ypsilanti Township Community Oriented Policing (COPS) Deputy, and as a member of the Superior Township / Ypsilanti Township Community Policing Team.  Nick is currently assigned as a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and is a member of the Washtenaw County Metro SWAT Team.  He has received numerous awards and commendations for his work within the Sheriff’s Office.  Nick holds an Associate’s Degree from Grand Rapids Community College where he attended the police academy.  He is a proud husband and the father of two girls, Ella (8) and Aubrey (1).

 

H. Eugene “Geno” Rush

Eugene began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in January 2004.  He has served in patrol assignments, as a Motor Unit Officer, a Police Training Officer (PTO), and in different community oriented policing assignments.  He currently serves as Neighborhood Watch Coordinator for Ypsilanti Township, and is a member of the Washtenaw Metro Crisis Negotiations Team and the Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit.  Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Eugene served as a Police Officer and Supervisor for the Ypsilanti Police Department.  He is the recipient of numerous awards and commendations including two Life Saving Awards and Police Services Employee of the Year in 2012.  A member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Eugene holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan and Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Detroit, Mercy College of Law.  He is a devoted husband and father of two sons, Joshua (13) and James (9).
