Arrest made in July 22nd Superior Township Shooting

On Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in cooperation with the U.S. Marshal’s Office, Washtenaw Metro-SWAT, and the Westland Police Department, the Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant resulting in the arrest of the suspect in the July 22nd, 2016 shooting in Superior Township.

The Washtenaw County Prosecutors Office has charged the suspect with the following crimes:

  • Assault with intent to murder
  • Armed robbery
  • Felon in possession of firearm
  • Felony firearm
  • Carrying a concealed weapon

The suspect was a parole absconder at the time of his arrest.  He was arraigned on 7/28/2016 receiving “no bond” regarding the shooting investigation and a $10,000 cash bond for a second and related alleged criminal charge of Witness Intimidation.

 A great job was done by all of the law enforcement professionals involved in bringing about a swift and safe arrest in this matter.  The Sheriff’s Office wishes to remind all that defendants of alleged crimes are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
