2016 WCSO Jail Pumpkin Decorating and Carving Competition

As an incentive and reward for good behavior (and to have some fun) the WCSO jail held its first annual Pumpkin Decorating and Carving Contest this year.

Pumpkin Carving ContestThree units (J, G2, & I) were given the opportunity to participate by coming up with a design. The top ten designs were selected from each unit. Carving was done in the gym with safety tools, and closely monitored to ensure safety and security. The top five carved pumpkins were selected from each unit and prizes were awarded to their designers. It was a great activity for the inmates thanks to Sgt. Ed Moorman, Lt. Kurt Schiappacasse and Lt. Commander Randy Casey.

The pumpkins from the competition then served as fun, welcoming, Halloween decorations in front of Station # 1, greeting and bringing smiles to staff and visitors alike.
