He holds the Sheriff’s Office Medal of Valor and received the Police Officers Association of Michigan Police Officer of the Year award in 2010. Mike holds an Associate’s Degree in business management and has been a long-time martial arts student, competitor and instructor.
“Our command officers, particularly our Sergeants, are in the many communities we serve every day guiding and supervising our Deputy Sheriff’s. We expect strong leadership from them”, stated Sheriff Jerry Clayton. “Mike has repeatedly distinguished himself in the manner in which he goes about his work. He leads by example and is effective at working in the community addressing crime and crime related issues. We expect great things from Mike in his new role.”
