Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Corporal Loretta Brown Retires

Sheriff Jerry L. Clayton wishes to announce the retirement of Corporal Loretta Brown, effective May 29th, 2013.

Cpl. Loretta BrownCorporal Brown served in the Washtenaw County Jail as a State certified Corrections and Law Enforcement Officer over the course of her 25 year career with the Sheriff’s Office.  She is the recipient of a variety of commendations for her service as a Corrections Officer including citations for meritorious service and multiple unit citations.

“As a professional Corrections Officer, Loretta understood the importance of assessing and meeting inmate needs and how to effectively supervise and assure that inmates are occupied with productive activities while in jail; an important component to  supporting an eventual  positive return to their communities.  Considering that working as a professional Corrections Officer is among the most challenging of public safety positions, we congratulate Loretta upon her retirement and wish her the best. ”
