Sheriff's Office Launches CrimeMapping.com
Now you can check recent crime activity in your neighborhood, see where the crimes occurred, analyze patterns of crime, and see how far a crime was from your home.
An educated community is our best partner, has long been the mantra of the Sheriff's Office and with the launch of CrimeMapping.com we've added one more tool to put those words into action.
CrimeMapping.com was developed by the Omega Group to help provide citizens with valuable information about recent crime activity in their neighborhood. It's a nationwide service and Washtenaw County along with the City of Ann Arbor and Pittsfield Township are all providing the service. This represents a new, easy to use web site to provide the public with accurate and timely data in the form of maps and reports. Crime data is extracted on a regular basis from our records system so that the information being viewed through the Web browser is always up to date.
Residents have numerous options such as showing clusters of crime activity, analyzing patterns within a specific radius of any location, determining the distance to any crime from your address, using a terrain view which outlines topography and producing detailed reports.
Points to consider
- Incidents only appear on the crime map once the report has been approved.
- If you are searching for a specific incident and do not find it on the map please check back at a later time.
- An incident not appearing on the map does not mean that the incident is not being investigated.
