Dexter Tornado Information Update

Recovery efforts continue to move forward as clean up kicks into high gear!

Recovery efforts are moving forward with an initial concentration on Dexter-Pinckney Road. With power restored, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will be moving in along with an outside contractor to clear trees and debris from the roadway and drainage ditches. Dexter-Pinckney Road will remain closed to thru traffic for the duration of this effort which is expected to take as many as 5 additional days. The WCRC intends to complete work north of Wylie Road first and then that portion of the road will be opened. Dexter-Pinckney Road will be open to local traffic during the entire process but delays should be expected.

Dexter-Pinckney Road Residents:

Residents living on Dexter-Pinckney Road are asked to NOT bring debris from their yards to the road or road right of way at this time. The Township is developing a plan to help residents with the removal of debris from their property. However, this effort cannot begin until the WCRC roadway work is completed. More information will follow about when and how debris will be picked up.
