On Sunday, November 6th, 2016, Sheriff’s Office Police Service Dogs “re-certified” as patrol dogs under the auspices of the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA), Region 19. The USPCA is the largest, oldest and most recognized police dog certifying authority in North America. Typically the dogs certify annually under the USPCA as patrol, tracking and detection dogs, and every two (2) years under the National Association of Professional Canine Handlers for the same disciplines. The dogs also compete for civilian obedience and other titles.
