The Juvenile Court Division is located at 200 N. Main Ste 300, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. The Prosecutors Office Juvenile Court Division staffs a First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney supervisor, two full-time Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys (APAs), one full-time Legal Assistant, one full-time Victim Advocate.
The Juvenile Court Division plays an important role in holding juveniles accountable for their criminal acts as well as protecting children from abuse and neglect. In handling both deliquency and child protective proceedings, our Office consults with police officers, school officials, court staff, Department of Human Services (previously Family Independant Agency), Children's Protective Services workers, foster care workers, other professionals, parents, children, crime victims, and witnesses as necessary, and answers questions from the public, media and other sources as needed. After a review of submitted police reports for legal sufficiency of criminal charges, our Office will prosecute all authorized juvenile delinquency and status offense (runaways and truants) cases. Effective Monday, May 23, 2011 the Washtenaw County Juvenile Court will move from its current location on Platt Road to the third floor of the Washtenaw County Courthouse, 101 E. Huron, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
The mailing address is Washtenaw County Trial Court/Juvenile Division, 101 E. Huron, PO Box 8645, Ann Arbor, MI 48107-8645. The phone number will remain the same 734.222.6900. The court will be in transition the week of May 16-20, 2011 and will only hold emergency and statutorily mandated hearings. Parking at the new court location can be found at the City of Ann Arbor, Ann Ashley parking structure.
