Plone is a content management system designed to make it possible for normal people to use a website to communicate with the other normal people. A little orientation to what you see might be helpful. Don't worry if you don't understand it all at first.
Official Holidays - add your birthday to the list. Click on the Edit tab, add you birthday, then save.
Use the buttons in the text editor or the paragraph tag drop-down to change format of the plain text in the body text below.
Links are click-able text that allows people to click and go to another page. In this system there is a distinction between internal links (other pages on the same site) and external links that go to pages on other websites.
A collection of information and links relating to bats. Use anchor links to make a table of contents at the top so that people can see what topics are covered on the page. Three steps: 1) set anchors at subheadings using the anchor icon; 2) set up text at top of page that will serve as links; 3) link to anchors using the Chain icon and selecting anchors at the left.
In this exercise you will upload a file and then create a link to the file.
You can add images (pictures or graphics) to pages to be more descriptive or to make the page more inviting. If you think about it you can do both. In addition, streaming video from services like YouTube or Vimeo can be added leveraging existing resources. Locate and embed an ant video using the this link as a resource: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er-OnJCn1gg. You will need to use the html view to accomplish this exercise.
The two main uses of tables are: 1) organize information in a way that is easy to read; and 2) control page layout, especially with images.
