Buhr Park Rain Gardens

expired

Today we started the field season off with a nature walk and refresher on rain gardens. With the help of GIVE 365, we'll be starting our rain garden workdays soon. GIVE 365 staff recruits volunteers to help maintain public rain gardens.

Buhr Nature Walk

Jeannine Palms, the original proponent and current caretaker of the Children's Wet Meadow project in Buhr Park, led a tour of all the green stormwater infrastructure features. The oldest Children's Wet Meadow, which functions like a rain garden is over 20 years old! GIVE 365, Water Resources Staff and City of Ann Arbor System's Planning department are all working to help Jeannine and her preschoolers care for the rain gardens throughout Buhr Park. A special thanks to Erich and Graciela for helping to care for the Cobblestone Rain Garden.
