Augusta Township Clean-up Day - June 24, 2017


Augusta Township is sponsoring an Environmental Clean-up Day for Washtenaw County residents. This event provides an opportunity for residents to dispose of many unwanted household items in a safe and sustainable manner.

What to bring

  • Tires (Not on rims; See fees listed)
  • Scrap metal (Including non-Freon appliances like stoves, washers, dryers)
  • Freon-containing appliances (Freezers, refrigerators, air conditioning units, dehumidifiers)
  • Electronics (Most electronic items free except TVs & monitors; See below for TV restrictions)
  • Bulky household items (Limited to mattresses/box springs, furniture & carpeting)
  • Household hazardous materials (Paint, motor oil, pesticides, cleaning supplies, etc.; Please call 734-222-3810 for full list of items accepted)


What NOT to bring

  •  Construction and demolition waste (Drywall, concrete, wood, bricks, shingles, etc.)
  • Chain link or wire fencing
  • High pressure tanks (propane or welding tanks)
  • TVs over 50” or rear projection TVs
  • Household garbage


Entry Fees

  • Car: $10
  • Small pickup: $15
  • Half-ton pickup or car with trailer: $20

Material Fees (in addition to entry fee)

  • Tires: $4 each passenger vehicle tire; $20 each semi tire (NO rims for any tires!)
  • TVs or Computer Monitors: $15 each

Who can participate

This is a service for Washtenaw County residents only, funded and coordinated by Augusta Township. All Washtenaw County residents are welcome and encouraged to attend. This collection is intended for residential use only – please, no businesses.

Two additional County Clean-up Days will be held in other communities this year, including September 30 at the Saline Department of Public Works and October 14 at Eastern Michigan University’s Rynearson Stadium.
