Good News / Bad News
Good News! The State of Michigan has agreed to fund for three of the five projects submitted for low-interest loans. They are Farmer's Market, Stadium Blvd. reconstruction, and Pioneer High School. (For details, see " View Public Hearing Presentation". These loans will fund the stormwater components of these projects at 2.5% interest for 20 years. The caveat is that projects need to be bid for construction by September 2009, so all three must move forward without delay. Construction is planned for 2009 and 2010.
The bad news is that Miller Ave and Dexter Road were not funded. In addition, two grants submitted for the Pioneer High School project were declined - Kresge Foundation and the MDEQ.
