Public Hearing
The Washtenaw County Drain Commissioner held a public hearing on the proposed State Revolving Fund Project Plan for the Allens Creek watershed. The purpose of the proposed Project Plan is to secure low interest funding for non-point source water quality treatment improvements in the Allens Creek watershed. The purpose of this project is to help reduce storm water pollutants, flooding and flow to Allens Creek and the surrounding neighborhoods by retaining, delaying and infiltrating the storm water runoff. Five projects sites are being proposed based on the potential storm water management opportunities they provide to the watershed as well as eight additional future project sites.The five sites are
- Pioneer High School
- Farmer's Market
- Stadium Blvd
- Miller Ave
- Dexter Road
This project will be funded through loans from the State of Michigan Revolving Fund. Loan obligations will be assessed to the Allens Creek Drainage District; the City of Ann Arbor, MDOT and Washtenaw County. There will be no additional financial impacts assessed to property owners for the projects.
