Maintenance of an Existing County Drain
Chapter 8 Petition
The Michigan Drain Code allows for $2500.00 per mile of drain per year to
be spent on maintenance and improvements to a county drain. Conditions
requiring work that will exceed this amount can only be attended to by a
petition under Chapter 8 of the Drain Code. A brief
description of the situation that prompted this petition MUST be included in
the space provided in the petition.
