Infrastructure Assistance Program

Public Works, under Michigan Public Act 185, can help local communities address their infrastructure needs by providing communities with the financial and technical assistance needed to construct wastewater, water supply, and solid waste projects as well as establishing lake management projects.

Local communities that partner with Division of Public Works receive:

  • Access to the Washtenaw County's excellent credit rating, which equates to lower interest rates for an infrastructure project
  • Financial assistance in securing and issuing bonds
  • Technical assistance in project planning, design and construction from experienced and certified professionals
  • Assistance in establishing funding mechanisms for the construction, operation and management of infrastructure systems
