WCHO Health Services Access
Health Services Access is the central entry point for all Medicaid-eligible and indigent (uninsured) adults and children requesting Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse information and services in Washtenaw County.
Callers may receive health information and/or referrals to a
variety of community services. Individuals seeking mental health or
substance abuse treatment services receive a clinical screening completed by
a licensed behavioral health professional.
Requests for services are received 24 hrs/day.

Mental Health: Callers to Health Services Access are screened
using criteria found in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders (DSM-IV), the Regional Utilization
Management & Service Authorization Guidelines and are referred to
the appropriate level of intensity of available psychiatric and/or
psychological services. Referrals are made to various community clinics,
Medicaid-covered providers and
Washtenaw County Commnity Support & Treatmentment Services
(CSTS).
Substance Abuse: Health Services Access is the
Access, Assessment and Referral (AAR) Services Agency for both Washtenaw and
Livingston Counties, addressing the substance abuse treatment needs of
Medicaid-eligible and indigent (uninsured) adults and adolescents.
Callers are screened using the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)
Patient Placement Criteria for the treatment of Substance-Related Disorders.
