Washtenaw County Resources for Pregnant
Women
This site has links for many programs (maternal health, smoking
cessation, parenting classes, birthing classes, etc.), all dealing with
assistance to provide healthy pregnancy outcomes.

Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP)
Any pregnant woman or baby under 1 year old who is enrolled in
Medicaid, Healthy Kids or MOMS may qualify for MIHP. Some of the
program benefits are: help provide transportation to medical
appointments; home visits by a nurse, social worker, and nutritionist;
referrals to community agencies; help with needed baby supplies. To

Women, Infant and Children (WIC)
Women, Infant and Children (WIC) is a health and nutrition program that
helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children eat well and stay
healthy. WIC also provides nutrition education and counseling and
help accessing health care. To apply for WIC services please call

Insurance for Pregnant Women
You may qualify for free or low-cost health care insurance (coverage)
available to pregnant women if you are pregnant without health
insurance, nneed health care, and ccannot afford to pay
for private health insurance.

Coalition for Infant Mortality Reduction
The Washtenaw County Coalition for Infant Mortality Reduction is made
up of individuals and groups who are concerned about reducing infant
mortality rates in our county, and in particular reducing racial
disparities in infant mortality and in low birth weight/premature
delivery.
