Insurance Kids
Are you:
- Under age 19 (or under age 21 for some programs),
- Without health insurance,
- Need health care, and
- Cannot afford to pay for private health insurance?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, you may qualify for free or low-cost health care insurance (coverage) available to infants, young children, and teens.
HEALTHY KIDS/MEDICAID
For low-income children under age 19 and for pregnant women of any age without health insurance. Provides comprehensive medical, mental health, dental, and vision coverage. Must be a Michigan resident.

MICHILD
For low-income children of working families under age 19 without health insurance. Must not qualify for Healthy Kids/Medicaid. Provides comprehensive medical and dental coverage. Must be a Michigan resident.

WASHTENAW HEALTH PLAN - "PLAN B"
For low-income Washtenaw County residents without health insurance including low-income children who do not qualify for Healthy Kids/Medicaid or MIChild.

EMERGENCY ONLY MEDICAID
For low-income children, elderly (age 65 or over), and pregnant women without health insurance who do not qualify for Healthy Kids/Medicaid, MIChild, full Medicaid, or Medicare. Covers inpatient (hospital) labor and delivery services for pregnant women; covers "emergency" services for children and elderly.
Pregnant women with Emergency Only Medicaid should also apply for MOMS and Washtenaw Health Plan - "Plan B" (see above). Children and elderly with Emergency Only Medicaid should also apply for Washtenaw Health Plan (see above).

WASHTENAW COUNTY PRESCRIPTION PLAN
A prescription drug discount program for Washtenaw County residents without or with limited prescription drug coverage. There are no income or age restrictions.

CHILDREN'S SPECIAL HEALTH CARE SERVICES
For children with qualifying medical conditions under age 21 (exceptions made for cystic fibrosis or blood clotting disorders). Covers specialty health care services. Must be a Michigan resident.
