Health Care Coverage for Adults
Are you:
- Age 18 or older,
- Without health insurance,
- Need health care, and
- Cannot afford to pay for private health insurance?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, you may qualify for free or low-cost health care insurance (coverage) available to adults.
MEDICAID FOR AGED, BLIND, OR DISABLED
For low-income people who are elderly (age 65 or older); blind; or disabled. Provides comprehensive medical, mental health, vision, and dental coverage.

ADULT BENEFIT WAIVER (ABW; WASHTENAW HEALTH PLAN - "PLAN A") (also called "Adult Medical Program" or "AMP"; formerly State Medical Program or SMP)
For low-income, childless adults ages 18 to 64. Must be a Michigan resident.
Be aware that:

ABW (WHP Plan A) has more comprehensive health benefits than WHP Plan B. Click here for more information.

Current WHP Plan B members who apply for ABW (WHP Plan A) and do NOT qualify will NOT lose their WHP Plan B coverage.

WASHTENAW HEALTH PLAN - "PLAN B"
For low-income Washtenaw County residents without health insurance who do not qualify for full Medicaid, Medicare, and other publicly-funded health coverage programs.

EMERGENCY ONLY MEDICAID
For low-income children, elderly (age 65 or over), and pregnant women who do not qualify for Healthy Kids/Medicaid, MIChild, or full Medicaid. Covers inpatient (hospital) labor and delivery services for pregnant women; covers "emergency" services for children and elderly.
Pregnant women with Emergency Only Medicaid should also apply for MOMS (see above) and Washtenaw Health Plan - "Plan B" (see above); children and elderly with Emergency Only Medicaid should also apply for Washtenaw Health Plan - "Plan B" (see above).

WASHTENAW COUNTY PRESCRIPTION PLAN
For Washtenaw County residents without or with limited prescription drug coverage. There are no income or age restrictions.
