Program Services:
- TB Clinic

- Scheduled on Wednesday evenings by appointment only. Call (734) 544-3074 during business hours.
- Individuals may be referred to the TB Clinic for evaluation, treatment and/or follow-up.

Tuberculin skin tests (TST) are not available at the TB clinic. You need to make an appointment at 544-6770. The cost of a skin test is $10, and you must return to the Health Department in Ypsilanti after 48 to 72 hours to have the test read.
- Chest X-rays

- Diagnostic x-rays are provided as part of the TB Clinic evaluation.
- Routine/Pre-employment x-rays are not available for the general public.
- Consultation with the TB program physician
- Consultation and oversight for the TB control activities of local facililities and practitioners.
- Medications at no cost to the client (we will collaborate with the client's medical insurance if applicable)
- Public Health Nurse support for the completion of treatment by assessing client's needs and using incentives as appropriate. DOT (Directly Observed Therapy) will be used for suspect and active TB cases.
- Maintenance of TB registry and reporting to the State of all active cases, cases being treated for latent TB infection, and contacts of active cases

Mission:
The Washtenaw County Public Health Tuberculosis (TB) Control Program has the legal responsibility for preventing and controlling TB in the community by:
- Identifying and treating persons who have suspect/active TB and ensuring they complete appropriate therapy
- Identifying and screening contacts of persons with TB to determine whether they have latent TB infection or active disease and providing appropriate treatment
- Screening high-risk populations to detect persons with latent TB infection and providing appropriate treatment to prevent progression to disease
