Need health insurance coverage for 2018? Enroll now because the Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment period closes Dec. 15. The Washtenaw Health Plan offers free help understanding and applying for Marketplace or other insurance. Individuals can walk in Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm at 555 Towner Street, Ypsilanti.

“During this Open Enrollment period, we’ve helped many folks find lower cost plans than they had last year and we’ve helped others enroll for the first time,” noted Nordberg.

Plans bought during this Open Enrollment period will start Jan. 1, 2018. This year’s enrollment period, which started Nov. 1, is just half as long as in previous years.

If you are already insured through the Marketplace, you should update your information and make sure your current plan is still the best one for you, your family and your budget. Visit your Marketplace account at or get help locally at the Washtenaw Health Plan.

The Washtenaw Health Plan can also help people understand and apply for Medicaid, the Washtenaw Health Plan and employer insurance. Spanish-speaking and Arabic-speaking staff members, as well as phone interpreters for other languages, are available.
