Profiles in Public Health

Profiles in Public Health provides a snapshot of what a public health professional does. In a public health, we work to improve the health and quality of life for entire communities --- not just individuals. We work to increase awareness of public health and safety issues in order to prevent illnesses and injuries --- not just treat them. We also tackle complex health issues, such as improving access to health care, controlling infectious disease, reducing environmental hazards, making sure restaurants are clean and safe, and making sure mothers and babies are getting the nutrition they need... and much, much more!
