Medical Director's Welcome
Hello and welcome to your Washtenaw County Public Health Web site. I'm Diana Torres-Burgos, the Medical Director for Washtenaw County's Public Health Department. As Medical Director, I am responsible for overseeing the development and evaluation of standards of medical care throughout the agency, providing medical direction to the agency’s medical staff, and advising the Health Officer in matters of medical policy. I also work with professional societies and health agencies at the local, state, and federal level to insure the compliance of the County’s various health programs.

Diana Torres-Burgos, MD, MPH is a board certified pediatrician who received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. For fifteen years, she practiced as a general pediatrician. In 2006, she obtained a Masters of Public Health in Health Education and Health Behavior with a focus on community-based public health. In 2007, she completed a second residency in Preventive Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a Leadership Scholar Fellowship with the National Hispanic Medical Association for community/policy advocacy. |
