**Register Now for local Safe Routes training**

www.saferoutesmichigan.orgAre you interested in starting a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program at a Washtenaw County school? Attending a SRTS training is a great way to get started!

Space is limited, so register today!

What: Safe Routes to School Training

Who: Interested citizens, parents, teachers, school administrators, health professionals, etc! (Registration is limited to 2 participants per organization)

Where: East Middle School, Ypsilanti

When: March 13, 2007, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Cost: FREE!

All trainees representing a registered elementary or middle school will receive the following:

  1. The Safe Routes to School Handbook, an easy-to-use guide that explains how to start and sustain a Safe Routes to School program (one per school team).

  2. A CD containing templates of flyers, letters, surveys, press releases and more that can be customized and used to promote and evaluate your program (one per school team).

  3. Hands-on experience in using the Handbook, including effective strategies and tips to help get your program up and running.

  4. Information on funding sources available to Safe Routes to School programs.

  5. On-going support from the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and its network of transportation, health, and safety officials and educators.

  6. Lunch, refreshments and all training materials.
