HIP wins special Public Health Community Achievement Award
The Michigan Association of Local Public Health (MALPH) awarded the Washtenaw County Health Improvement Plan with a special “Public Health Community Achievement Award” at its recent state-wide conference. The award sited HIP’s ability to bring together diverse partner organizations and individuals, and its long-term focus on monitoring health status. Numerous examples of HIP’s contributions to community successes were outlined, including clean indoor air legislation; school-based health clinics; and physical activity promotion.
Thanks to long-time Community Health Committee member Bobbi Asplund for submitting the award application.
