Membership is made up of individual citizens and staff members from various organizations around the county including: U of M Psychiatric Emergency Services, The Veterans Administration, Ozone House, The University of Michigan Depression Center, CSTS, Washtenaw Community College, various schools and many others. Suicide A.L.E.R.T. is a suicide prevention youth advisory council (youth ages 15-24) for Washtenaw County. They meet once a month to discuss plans for raising awareness in young people about the issues of depression and suicide. You can find them on facebook Check out the video they just produced!
What does A.L.E.R.T. stand for? Adolescents Learning, Educating, and Reacting with Training We're teens and young adults spreading the word that being depressed or having suicidal thoughts isn't something to be ashamed of. You are not alone. |
