The Colorectal Awareness Network of Washtenaw County will be hosting the first annual Colorectal Awareness Forum on Tuesday, March 22 from Noon - 1:30. The luncheon will be held at the Washtenaw County Service Center Library Learning Resource Center 4135 Washtenaw Ave., Ann Arbor, in the Washtenaw County Service Center complex. Admission is free.

The American Cancer Society is leading this inititative to spread the word about early colorectal detection and prevention. Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed form of cancer and also the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. for both men and women. Featured speakers will include Patricia Anstett, medical writer for the Detroit Free Press. Her specialities are cancer, chronic disease, women's health and patient education issues.

Speakers from the University of Michigan, Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and the American Cancer Society will present up-to-date information regarding colorectal cancer screening, prevention and the benefits of early detection.  Please call 734.971.4300 to RSVP; or if you have questions.
